Before joining teysha, Marissa spent years designing for some of the best known lingerie and sleepwear labels across Australia and internationally.
She became an expert in:

😳 The Fabric Horror Story
While researching materials used in mass market teen underwear, Marissa came across a study that made her stop scrolling:
Some bras sold for young girls contained high levels of chemical finishes, including:

⚠ antimicrobial chemicals
⚠ PFAS (“forever chemicals”)
⚠ phthalates (used to soften plastics)
Chemicals banned in children’s toys however still allowed in fabrics worn against the most sensitive skin on the body, every single day.

Instead of synthetics, padding and fillers, Marissa rebuilt the idea of a first bra from the ground up using:
