Dear Underwear Brands: Not Everything Needs to Be Sexy, OK?
Let’s talk first bras and undies. Yep the things you wear every single day and never really think about… until you try to buy them and suddenly you’re standing in a store wondering:
“Umm… why does this bra look like it belongs in a music video?” or there is "NO way I am wearing those undies with fairies on them "
You know the ones. Super UGLY patterns, Those undies with the days of the week written on them in the underwear packs with weird colours ! I mean who wants fluro green knickers. You’re 12, you just want something comfy that shows you have grown up, but not too much !
So where’s the Cute Stuff for Us???
Somewhere between age 10 and adulthood, the underwear world seems to skip a step. One day it’s rainbow unicorn briefs and the next it’s… well, things you hope your grandma doesn’t see when she does the laundry.
Here’s the thing: We’re just trying to be us real girls in a weird in-between time zone where we still watch cartoons ( well just sometimes! ) and talk about our crushes on boys.
So why is it so hard to find underwear that actually makes sense for where we’re at?
Our Mums Are Confused Too:
Spoiler alert: our mums are ALSO standing in those shops thinking,
“Uhh… is this really what I’m supposed to buy for my 11-year-old?”
They want us to feel confident and comfortable. We want to feel cute, cool and not itchy. But the options out there?
Either you feel like a 5-year-old or a contestant on Love Island.
So Enter: teysha (aka Us, bras and Undies for girls growing up)
We were made for the girls in the middle.
We get that you want bras that don’t squish, itch, or slide around.
We get that you want undies that are soft, fun, and don’t have slogans like “Hot Stuff” on the waistband (ew).
We also get that mums want things that are age-appropriate, made from safe, breathable fabrics (hi, organic cotton!), and won’t cause a family scandal at the next sleepover.
We’d love:
– Soft, natural fabrics
– Cute colours, patterns and designs
– Bras that fit and make us feel confident !
– No itchy fabrics
– Undies that don't ride up !
